Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) is a free antivirus program developed by Microsoft that provides protection against spyware, rootkits and trojan horses. Microsoft Security Essentials runs on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. You can use Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus software to scan your PC, remove virus and remove malicious programs that have already infected your system. Running this program may slow your system and prevent other programs from running properly which is actually very frustrating especially at times when you are in hurry. Thus, you may want to disable Microsoft Security Essentials. Note that you can disable real-time protection or the entire program.
Steps to disable Microsoft Security Essentials • Right click on the system tray icon, and select "Open"
• Click on the "Settings" tab
• Click on "Real-time protection"
• Uncheck "Turn on Real-time protection"
• Click on "Save Changes"
It does not appear on my Systems Tray. So what do I do?
